Stone Memory

A piece of stone with rust stains on it. These brown marks caught my eye. Looking closer, I found small details along the edges of the stains and across the stone’s surface. I enjoyed taking my time with them.

As I took photos, I paid less attention to the whole stone. Instead, I looked at where the colour was stronger and where the surface was bare. There was plenty to explore in such a small piece.

I do not know how long these marks have been there. I liked how the stone kept traces of what had happened to it, even if I did not know its story. This photo holds a small part of that.
