Soft Collision

A crumpled aluminium sheet with a hole in the centre. The folds and dents caught my eye: the metal gathers around the opening, then spreads into larger, smoother areas. Up close, it almost looked soft.

I played with the lighting and watched the reflections change. Warm orange light appeared beside the silver and grey areas. A small change of angle was enough to bring out another fold or leave a dent completely dark.

While taking photos, I kept coming back to the hole in the centre. The lines I followed with the camera came together around it. I liked how clearly the marks of bending showed, while the light and soft curves gave the image a quiet feeling.
