This is the back of a chair, with paint that has chipped off over time. The edges of the paint and the bare areas caught my eye. Looking closer, I began to follow these small shapes and almost forgot I was looking at a chair.
I like finding details like this on everyday objects. The paint once covered the whole surface. Now only patches remain, some small, some large. Each missing piece has changed how the chair looks.
I cannot tell who sat on this chair or how many years have passed. But the marks of use are still there. That is what made it interesting to me: as the paint slowly came away, it left something worth looking at.
