The rust marks in Oxide Blue remind me of an old blue garden gate. One that was always left open in summer, with people coming and going. I imagine someone carefully painting it years ago, then putting off painting it again.
Over time, the brown patches spread across the blue. Perhaps they started around a small scratch. Later, nobody paid much attention to how far they had grown. Slowly, the surface formed its own pattern.
I do not know the real story of this surface. That is something I like about the photo: there is room to imagine. For me, it brings to mind a garden gate and a few long summers. For someone else, it may bring back a different memory.
