Gilded Fragments

I photographed the inside of a biscuit wrapper up close. Silver and gold reflections appeared between the folds. I was interested in how the creases broke the light into small shapes and brought them together in this messy pattern.

I moved the wrapper a little and changed the lighting. A bright area suddenly went dark, while another shiny edge appeared nearby. It was hard to see the same thing twice, so I spent quite a while playing with these small changes.

The biscuits were gone, but the wrapper was still on the table. Before throwing it away, I wanted to look at it through the camera. I liked finding so much light and so many shapes in something so ordinary.
