Funnel

I photographed the inside of a tool used to turn dry bread into crumbs, using different lights. I was curious to see how this everyday kitchen object would look up close. From the inside, the holes and curves of the metal caught my attention.

I changed the position and colour of the light and watched the reflections appear. Light passing through the holes became little bright dots, while other parts stayed in shadow. I enjoyed trying to bring these details together in a photo.

I would probably never look inside it this way while using it. With the camera, though, I spent quite a while exploring its shapes. Sometimes that is what interests me most: a side of a familiar object that we rarely see.
