A detail of dried paint left inside a paint pot. This is the second photo in the three-part Chromatic Remains series, with yellow and orange as its main colours. The cracks and peeling layers stand out between the lighter areas and the deep, dark gaps.
I photographed it up close and played with the lighting. I was curious to see how the dried paint would look in different colours. In this photo, the warm tones brought out the small marks on the surface and the edges of the layers.
The paint has dried, so I can no longer use it with a brush. With the camera, there was still plenty to explore. The three photos grew from this curiosity: spending time with an object put aside and seeing how it looks in the light.
