Blue Current

This photo shows the neck and opening of a decorative glass bottle lying on its side. This small detail caught my eye: the thick glass rim, its curve, and the light passing through it. Taking photos up close, I focused on these shapes.

I played with the lighting and watched the blue and turquoise meet the warm red and orange light. Small scratches showed on the rim, while the colours behind it blurred. I kept trying slightly different angles to catch the reflection.

The bottle lay still, but the light gave it a sense of movement. To me, it looked as if the blue was flowing along its neck. It was fun to spend a while playing with a few colours and a simple glass object.
